About this Event:

A free of charge 3 day residential for Year 10 students to experience student life in Higher Education by staying in Halls of Residence on campus and attending HE course taster sessions in Agriculture, Animal Management & Wildlife. Also included in this truly meaningful experience will be informative Higher Education sessions from the Next Steps South West team.

This three-day residential at Cannington Campus is being run by Next Steps South West. You will have the chance to take part in Agriculture, Animal Behaviour and Wildlife Studies taster sessions as well as other fun and interactive activities including some about Higher Education.

There will be a maximum of 20 students and accommodation and meals will be on-site in student halls. This is an exciting chance to meet new people, find out what student life is really like and build your confidence in a new and exciting environment. This is open to all students regardless of whether you want to study these subjects in the future. You just need to come with an open-mind and be willing to get stuck in!

Day 1: Welcome, check in and Introductory NSSW Workshops.

Day 2: HE Taster Sessions including Farm tour and wildlife animal handling!

Day 3: NSSW workshop, recap activity, Student Ambassadors Q&A & Farewell.

Transport: if you are unable to be dropped off and/or collected, then we can arrange transport from your school to Cannington campus.
