BUCKLER’S BOOST: Buckler’s Mead Academy’s Business Manager Matt Wood outside the school with students on the verge of £500,000 worth of improvements.
BMA is to get half a million pounds summer improvements boost
Buckler’s Mead Academy will get a massive £500,000 of investment in the site over the summer for the benefit of students after successful bids for building improvements and from the Academy’s capital funding.
The school, which was the most improved school in Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire from 2010 to 2013, has already got some of the best facilities in South Somerset after over £2 million of improvements in recent years.
Now it also wants to be one of the best schools in the country in terms of the development of its buildings.
The £500,000 investment will be made on upgrading the corridors and hall, a new roof, refurbishment of an IT suite and enhanced study areas.
Matt Wood, the Academy’s new Business Manager, said: “We are a fast improving Academy with big ambitions and this £500,000 will be a massive help to make our facilities for the students even better.”
